Project Fashion Show '16

Project Fashion Show is one of Houston's most influential fashion shows. It has been in production for 4 years, upon moving to Houston I was fortunate enough to connect with the coordinator and get hired to be her right hand, her go-to, for all things project fashion show '16.  My duties included but were not limited to: front of the house interns, brainstorming minor logistics, backstage and front of house coordinating prior to call time, front of house managing post call time, creating and sending out surveys post event.

Highlights:

This was the first time I had ever had such a large role in a large production. I had an amazing time organizing the models, hair and makeup while we were waiting for back stage to set up. I learned so much about large scale event coordinating with regard to production an ticketing that I did not know prior

Learning Opportunities:

I got to learn from the coordinator about securing liquor sponsors and other show fashion show sponsors to minimize the out-of-pocket cost. I also learned how to properly set up a sponsorship agreement and uphold the sponsoree end of the arrangement to cultivate a relationship. I was able to watch first-hand and aid in the navigation of a large production on the budgeting end, ticketing end, marketing end and day-of-event execution. While managing front of house, the check-in got hectic because of dress code confusion and some guest list hiccups, however we are able to use this to tighten up in that area for the next fashion show.
