Overview

Recess was tasked by the Jordan brand to create 2 bespoke events to launch Chase B’s collaboration with Cactus Jack.

Approach

Starting with a micro VC developed from a campaign film, we designed and produced a series of launch activations to introduce Jordan Brand’s collaboration with Cactus Jack DJ, Chase B.

The initial activation was an exclusive friends-and-family nightlife experience. At the peak of the night, Chase B took the booth and provided live sounds for the VIP audience.  The development of this experience included design and production for Digital invites, Staff badges, custom glow in the dark cups, and VIP and GA wrist bands. In addition to this procurred a Houston venue, we transformed the space with a custom stage installation, layered lighting, signage, event programming, and bespoke collateral to create an immersive, glowing environment.

The second activation reskinned the Houston boutique space village with visual storytelling set within a luminous cyber cityscape. The installation paired lighting with dimensional product displays while CRT monitors added analog nostalgia.

Result

This activation served as a demand-generating product tease, sparking UGC content and immediate traction across news outlets and global sneaker sources. Upon wider release, the CJ1 T-Rexx saw an 100% product sell-through.

Special Features

To accompany the launch, we created a limited edition figurine of ‘Lil Bizzle,’ the main character from the promo film, that was handed out to friends and family during the official shoe launch to further the storytelling and world-building for this product.
